Leona De Pasquale DipWSET

Leona De Pasquale DipWSET is a wine writer, translator and educator and the Founder & Chief Educator of Camellia and Vine, a wine and tea event and training company in London. She started her career in the wine industry in 2003, firstly in Taiwan and then in the UK. She has been working for various UK wine companies, including Vinopolis, Bibendum, Walker & Wodehouse, Berkmann and was the Head of Training for WineEd, a London-based wine training and event company (sister company of Jascots Wine Merchant) for the last few years before starting her own business.

Leona is a Certified Educator for WSET, Rioja, Madeira and Bordeaux Wines and Aroma Academy. She is also a Master of Wine student and a freelance wine writer and translator. She writes for various international publications such as Falstaff International, Club Oenologique and GuildSomm, The News Lens, Wine & Spirits Digest. Previously, she wrote and translated for Decanter Magazine (Taiwan) and Le Pan Magazine.

Leona has translated some of the most authoritative wine books including The World Atlas of Wine, American Wine, Natural Wine, Amber Revolution and The Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia. She is also the translator for the WSET Simplified and Traditional Chinese wine course materials and Rioja Wine Academy Online Course translator.

Leona judges at various international wine competitions including the Decanter World Wine Awards, IWSC, Decanter Retail Awards, Mundus Vini, International Rose Competition and the Bulk Wine Competition.

 

In addition to her love for wine, Leona also takes tea seriously as it’s what she grew up drinking. She has gained her tea qualifications (Tea Sommelier and Tea Champion) through the UK Tea Academy.

As a passionate educator in wine and tea, three courses she designed for the hospitality sector-Wine Fundamentals, Tea Fundamentals, Wine Service for Hospitality Professionals, have been endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality.
