Leona De Pasquale DipWSET

Leona De Pasquale DipWSET is a wine educator, journalist, and translator, as well as the Founder & Chief Educator of Camellia and Vine, a London-based wine and tea event and training company. Her career in the wine industry began in 2003, initially in Taiwan and later in the UK. She has worked with several prominent UK wine companies, including Vinopolis, Bibendum, Walker & Wodehouse, and Berkmann. Before establishing her own business, she was the Head of Training for WineEd, a sister company of Jascots Wine Merchant.

Leona is a Certified Educator for WSET, as well as for Rioja, Madeira, and Bordeaux wines, and Aroma Academy. As a freelance wine journalist, her writing has appeared in international publications such as The Buyer, The Drinks Business, Harpers, Falstaff International, Club Oenologique, GuildSomm, The News Lens, and Wine & Spirits Digest. Previously, she contributed to Decanter Magazine (Taiwan) and Le Pan Magazine.

Leona has translated several authoritative wine books, including The World Atlas of Wine, American Wine, Natural Wine, Amber Revolution, and The Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia. She has also translated WSET’s course materials into Simplified and Traditional Chinese and the Rioja Wine Academy’s online course.

In addition to her writing and translation work, Leona is a judge at international wine competitions, including the Decanter World Wine Awards, IWSC, Decanter Retail Awards, Mundus Vini, the International Rosé Competition, and the Bulk Wine Competition.

Her passion for tea runs deep, stemming from her upbringing. She has earned tea qualifications through the UK Tea Academy, achieving the titles of Tea Sommelier and Tea Champion.

As a dedicated educator, Leona has designed three courses for the hospitality industry—Wine Fundamentals, Tea Fundamentals, and Wine Service for Hospitality Professionals—which have been endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality.
