Leona De Pasquale DipWSET
Founder, Owner & Chief Educator

It all began with a glass of Gewürztraminer.

Grew up in Taiwan, Leona had zero contact with alcohol until she completed her master’s degree! All she had been drinking, like many Taiwanese, was not water, but tea. Until one day in 2003, she tried a glass of Gewürztraminer from Alsace, France at a work event, and the rest is history. She went on to pursue the WSET wine qualifications when she relocated to the UK in 2005. Eventually, she got the WSET L4 Diploma, and is currently in the famously challenging Master of Wine study programme.

As a wine and tea lover, and a passionate educator, Leona believes in making wine and tea accessible through fun training and events. Most importantly, by enjoying discovering aromas and flavours along the way.

Apart from running her own business, Leona is also a freelance wine journalist, wine judge and translator of some of the most authoritative wine books.

Leona is also a huge supporter of BE Inclusive Hospitality, who has spoken at various events promoting diversity and inclusiveness in the wine industry.
